An estimated 18 to 80 million dogs* and 4 million cats* are eaten every year in Asia primarily in China and Vietnam. China has no laws for the care and humane treatment of animals. Until the Chinese government addresses and changes their policies of violation against nature (wildlife, human rights, environmental, etc...) do not support them. This means boycotting products made in China and contacting your state legislators to put pressure of them. Thank you.

Each year in the U.S. over 300 million turkeys (46 million for Thanksgiving) are slaughtered most of which experience a miserable existence full of stress and suffering nothing short of slavery living in a CAFO (contained animal feeding operation) -- today's animal husbandry industry standard.

From chicks being separated from their mothers immediately following birth to painful debeaking & detoeing to squalid overcrowded massive factory farm warehouses to genetic manipulation resulting in crippling physical deformities such as abnormally large breasts that often cripple (to satisfy consumer's white meat preference and maximize profitability) to daily administering of antibiotic supplemented feed to inhumane transport & slaughter practices. CAFO pratices are the industry norm. In reality, turkeys today are treated more like commodities than living creatures.

Buying turkey from a national grocery chain such as Walmart, Safeway, Kroger, Food 4 Less, Winco, Albertsons, Target, Shop N Kart, or ordering turkey menu items from restaurants chains & fast food franchises not only supports the difficult to watch practices you see in the video, it ensures they continue.

Additionally, the symbolism surrounding the Thanksgiving turkey, much like the modern domestic turkey himself, has been largely manufactured by cynical commercial interests. There is neither compelling historical precedent nor meaningful rationale for associating the butchered tortured carcass of a turkey with our national day of thanksgiving.

Turkeys and domesticated livestock in general have fed and nourished humans for thousands of years. On this traditional day of "thanks", if you must feast on turkey, at the very least show some compassion and gratitude where it is long overdue, at the source.
